Another Challenge! Loving these! :)

I'm really loving challenges lately! I've got at least two to three others I'm working on right now. Sometimes they are just what I need to get the mojo going!

This card is my entry to the Basic Grey Challenge. It totally strayed from my original idea, but I love how it turned out. It was also one of the easiest cards I've ever made.

I used the rectangles and dotted paper (from Indian Summer)to mimic the couch in the photo. I also used colors similar to the picture. To add a little bling to the stickers and rub-ons I used a Sakura glitter pen to highlight some of the swirls. The cream cardstock and ribbon are from Close to My Heart. Everything else is from Basic Grey.

And here is layout I did of Jesse (poor guy - he's getting all of the "please don't scrap" pictures lately! LOL!). I have to admit to loving the picture of Jesse with my sister. It totally cracks me up. He was so tired but he wanted to go trick or treating and was just really, really grumpy (this was last year when Halloween was on Friday and so he had had a full day of school). My sister was trying to make him laugh, didn't work, but it made me laugh. ☺

Used lots of my stash here, older Junkitz papers, lots of Thickers and Basic Grey stickers. I ran out of some of the Thickers and had to butcher a couple of letters to try to make them work. I also added some black stickles on the circle I cut from patterned paper for a cheap & easy embellishment! ☺

Thanks for looking! ☺

A Moxie Fab Challenge

So this is my first time trying the Moxie Fab Challenge. I have to admit to being very intimidated by the incredible work that is always being submitted. But I figured what the heck. I was going to give it a try! This challenge was all about "plum". Any kind of purple is intimidating to me - not sure why. I love the color. I guess I'm just not sure how to use it. So with this card I kept my daughter in mind. She loves anything purple and sparkly. I used Basic Grey papers, my Stampin' Up scallop punch, decorative scissors, a stamp I bought from Stamping Bella, stamps from Close to My Heart, copic markers & Shimmerz to color, ribbon and rhinestones (itty bitty ones ☺).

I think it turned out cute - in a good way! ;)

I'm Ahead of the Game!

Wow! With as crazy as October usually is (and has been again this year), I thought for sure I would be behind on my November Sketch Challenge for OSU. But, I'm actually ahead of the game! Thanks to Kylie for reminding to make the time to scrapbook! ♥ ☺

For November's challenge I chose a sketch from our very own Lissa! If you get a moment, go check out her blogs. She's got some wonderful sketches and artwork there!

And here is my take on Lissa's sketch. I turned it and am very pleased with how it turned out! I have such a hard time making layouts of unhappy events. I know it's important to do so though - just because life is sometimes rough and you can't just record the happy stuff - because it's usually the crud that happens in your life that makes you grow the most.

For this layout I used Basic Grey papers, Thickers ♥, a ribbon and a couple of buttons.

And here is another layout of last year's Pioneer Day celebration. I used My Minds Eye (MME) papers, buttons and Doodlebug letter stickers. Most of the flowers are cut out from patterned paper. The polka dot flowers were punched using a scallop circle punch, crinkled up and then I put a brad in the middle. I also used one of the large flowers and added some lines to make it a journal spot. I also used a Page Map and really didn't change a thing! I ♥ Page Maps!!!
