It's Beginning to Look Like Christmas

I LOVE Christmas! I love decorating the house. I love the smell(and taste) of Christmas cookies. I love Christmas music. I love Christmas cartoons (especially the classics). I love the excitement of Christmas morning. I love reading the Christmas story from the Bible. I really LOVE Christmas!

This year, my best friend Jen surprised me with this beautiful handmade wreath. I absolutely love it. It just makes me happy!

I used the colors from the wreath in my decorations this year. Untraditional - but definitely fun!

I hope that this holiday season and the new year will bring happiness and peace to each and everyone of you!

A Thanksgiving to Remember

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I sure did! It was one to remember (and definitely one to scrap about! ☺). These people are the reason why is was so memorable:

(not naming names 'cause we've got some underage kiddos there, but you all know who you are!)

I am so thankful my best friend of 30 years (this month!) and her family made the trip from Virginia to Texas. It was an amazing week of long talks, laughter, shopping, staying up late, eating yummy food, reminiscing and being goofy. My daughter mentioned that she doesn't see me act this way very often. I need to remember to let loose a little with my kiddos. It's so easy to do with my best friend, because we are friends, but then I put on my mom face and become mom and it's harder to let loose and be goofy.

Sometimes when life gets rough, it's hard to remember all of my many blessings and so I am so thankful for this time of year when I can remember my blessings. I am going to strive to remember them throughout the year and be more thankful.

I am thankful for my family, my friends, my home, my husband's job, my new opportunity to go to school and finish my degree, my dogs, food to feed my family and clothes to clothe them, my faith and belief in God and miracles, my health, internet access - which makes it so easy to keep in touch with friends and family, my new digital camera ;), my creativity, and so many, many more.

Challenges Rock!

The Basic Grey Challenge Blog ladies challenged us this time to use Glitz and Bling. Oh my goodness, how could I not participate in this one??? ;) Everything on here is by Basic Grey (Marrakech) except for the glitter. I tried something new this time (something I learned at CKC). I took my glue pen and went along the edges of the mat and then added glitter. I also went along the stickers with the glue pen and added coordinating glitter. The Doodlebug glitter matched almost perfectly. It's a simple card, but I like it! And it's sparkly! :)

This layout is for the A Million Little Things Sketch It challenge. I think challenges are going to be the way I get scrapbooking done when I go back to school. They tend to make it easier for me, rather than have to come up with something brilliant on my own! LOL!

This layout uses some of my favorite pictures that my friend Misty took. What the heck, all of the pictures she took are my favorites! I also used Cosmo Cricket papers, Basic Grey chipboard letters, Prima flowers, and Autumn Leaves journal stamp, Bazzil In Stitch'z template and the brads are from Oriental Trading Company (I think!).

Thanks for looking! :)
